Im looking at a new 3 m power Harrow , we have plenty of stones so which Harrow is the best on stoney soil. I'm thinking Amazon or Kuhn or Pottinger, I have two pottingers already but they changed their one piece tine to two single tines and a new adaptor plate for the older models , but it keeps breaking bolts and is not a good job. Are the new pottinger with their quick fit tines a success. So of the three which is the best.

Kuhn here for a long time and we're definitely what you would call a stoney place we occasionally break a tine holder but not often in the really bad bits just shut the pto revs back and getvthe forward speed up and it copes fine

Replaced my old kuhn 3002 with a new 3004 in May and expect it to handle stones and the odd rock. Slip clutch has certainly been tested. I thought that when it comes to selling on DoneDeal there will be victims for it!

Those new tines are a disaster, why did they change what was a good system. Lose a plate most days

Our amazon has had loads of stones go threw it and plenty big ones have set the clutch off it’s never had anything go wrong with it

Got some straighter times one year and they snapped like carrots make sure you get the genuine tines

the other thing about an amazone is the tines are swept back so they tend to push the stones down we had a 4mtr kg on a power harrow combi and it never gave any trouble and believe me we have stones i have had neighbours with alsorts of p harrows and they have broken tines and shafts but we had none of that with the k g

Was wondering about welding tips onto the old 1 piece tines to see how they do

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
