I’m claim number 1.... they can’t say they ran out of money .... didn’t take long to apply but not over impressed that Payment rates are fixed not actually the cost of goods.

Its like you knew it was coming today. ;) Would your better half be able with applications for us mere mortals.

Also i have seen quotes for robots that are now a large amount higher than i was quoted when currency was worse and grants weren't avaliable to the masses.

Who really benefits from grants?

No quotes are needed for the small productivity scheme it’s a set rate by them. Eg foot crush is set at £4400 so £1760 grant. If you want too spend £8000 on a foot crush it’s still £1760. You’d also not reach minimum spend so would have too buy something else!!! That’s when you might want too say sod it.

I've only just glanced at it but I'm looking to put in more fixed and moveable handling systems. Is it 40% of the standard cost you apply for, regardless of how much it costs?

Nope fixed handling system was set I think like £9600 so if you spend that or more you will get £3840. Silly really as I think a IAE rotex and a bundle of hurdles are roughly £5000 so to get full grant you’d have too spend a load more money.

You can apply and still pull out if you get fed up or change your mind aslong as it’s within 14 days of them offering you the grant..

Only makes sense if your looking to change/upgrade
Otherwise you still have to find 60% of something that you might not need to improve profitability.

From an arable perspective there's not much for me there..... Possibly a GPS standalone for one of the tractors, or a auto fan switch on/off system to link up with the Lishman moisture /humidity detectors.( edit. Don't think this is eligible looking through the criteria)

Will take a closer look sometime soon.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
