Agricultural commodities and specialties company Cefetra Group is delighted to announce that Simon Borthwick has been appointed to head up the new European fertiliser division.

This brand-new role, which commences in the spring, has been specifically created by the Group, and will see Mr Borthwick focus and take overall responsibility for sales of a new multi-nutrient and organically-certified fertiliser called POLY4, which Cefetra has the exclusive rights to distribute across Europe for Anglo American plc.

Having been in the fertiliser business for more than 15 years, working with and heading up new and existing businesses, Mr Borthwick is excited to be joining Cefetra during a pivotal time of growth: “Having known of Cefetra and its people for many years, it has been impressive to see the scale and further evolution of the company. This new role will be an exciting one for me personally and a critical part of the company’s continued expansion across Europe.”

Cefetra Group CEO, Daan Vriens stated: “We are very pleased that Simon will lead our fertiliser business. POLY4 will be a next step in providing new solutions to farmers across Europe and fits perfectly in our sustainability journey to lower the carbon footprint in the supply chain.”

Cefetra Group, part of BayWa Ag, has a strong network across Europe allowing the company to match supply and demand for commodities to the benefit of both the producer and the consumer.
