Red Funnel aren’t fussy, Wightlink way too upmarket for anything ‘agric’
Surprised they let you on the ferry with that 😂

Bg
I have used Wightlink alot recently. One of the trips was bringing the dung spreader back the other week. Normally Lymington-Yarmouth can be very fussy about vehicle height and length and making sure they bleed you of every penny. Didn't seem to notice the fert spinner made the Hilux a tad more than 2.2 metres tall 😗😗😂.

Red funnel is a longer crossing and straight into city traffic the other side, but at least you can have a full meal on there.

I think that's ferry companies in general, isn't it? An old colleague of mine was sent to the Isle of Man in a service van. When he got to the dock the guy pulled him up because the already expensive ticket that had been booked for him was for a plain van, his was sign written. He asked what difference it made and was told it's double the price. He reckoned if he went back it would be cheaper to go in a hire car and send all his tools on a pallet.

Yep. Used red funnel a lot in the last few years as got together with a young lady from East Cowes. Managed to entice onto the big island full time at Christmas. Heading back there next weekend. Love the place!

The Plant and civils firm I worked for until recently got a job on the mainland on Hordle beach in the new forest.

We went over via Wightlink, low loader with the 21 tonner on, plant lorry with the harras panels and 9 ton dumper. LWB transit, transit tipper crew cab and another two of us in a little transit connect.

Nothing got measured other than the transit connect 🤦‍♂️. You could of fitted nearly two connects height and length wise, before needing the next ticket size. Can be real jobsworths when they want to be.
