Also after my above rant, what is the honest ad blue consumption, a friend with a new Navara says it drinks it, !!!!
My Navara had its first add blue refill at 1500 miles. Not sure how much went in as drew directly from brother in laws ibc. Mate had one few weeks after mine and did first refill at 800 miles.

Mine took 9.5l to fill the supposed 17l tank for the first time at 2100 miles last week. Hard to know how much was in it to start (they said it wasn't full), but doesn't seem too bad. Have made a note in the diary for next time. Seems like you get lots of warning.

Those are far shorter distances than I would have expected. A friend has a big Mercedes SUV, I mean the biggest, and I believe it goes without refills for well over 10,000 miles at a time. No idea how big a tank it has though.
The harder you drive them, the hotter the combustion, the more Adblue it should consume. So I would expect engines to require more frequent Adblue fills relative to fuel consumed when towing long distances compared to pottering about the farm fetching cows and carrying fence posts to the 20 acre a mile away.

To be fair, mine is mostly towing; it's also a guess until the 2nd fill as fill level on delivery is unknown. Suppose it would have been nice for it to have been brimmed at purchase. A fiver at bulk rates?

If my deductions are correct and it starts to warn about low levels around half-full, then could lead to the impression of higher consumption.

Thats what our dealer said when dad got his last year, they get a handling fee. But the first thing he asked was were we nfu or basc members, if they dont make anything that way why did he encourage it?

I reset both miles and mpg when I filled the tank, it was doing almost 40mpg until it did a regen

But don't be fooled this when we were on holiday lots of long steady trips, running around at home it does around 28 where the 3.0 would be 30mpg

So mpg is worse bobbing about (as opposed to a long run) than the old model ?

I had a 2.4 on test for 3 days and did a mix of use and 1 run of 200 motorway miles and thought the mpg of the new model was better

When i priced a new Navara they said the NFU thing was a load of rubbish, you get that discount anyway off the list price, something like £2,000 or £2,200 i can't remember exactly. Told me it doesn't make any odds but NFU like to put there name to it.

According to the NFU instructions, you should negotiate the best price you can for the vehicle then take the NFU discount extra.
Of course if you go into the dealership walking like a farmer and quacking like a farmer, they will probably suss you and you won't end up any better off with the 'discount'

That's pretty bad, just been on the phone with dealer and I've been assured it will improve with mileage.i was enquiringly the price of another set of standard alloys to put some all terrain tyres on.and the price is over £1400 plus vat.i was expecting about 100 each.

Good or Bad Nick??

Must be something up with yours, Nick

The 2.4 Invincible Manual I had for 3 days, was doing about 34mpg

As for alloys, try the FB Hilux group.............I picked up a 1 year old set of 4, 17" Invincible alloys with new Dueller tyres (8mm) on there for £300 (bartered the lad down from £500), so I'm running the Duellers off over summer and will fit AT tyres this autumn and keep the truck's original new wheels, in the shed for resale time

AT4x4 do cheap steels and AT tyres at Leeming Bar, North Yorks and will courier down

My mate picked up his new model hilux invincible auto on Monday and the salesman gave him a stern warning not to drive it in heavy traffic in SPORTS MODE as they had one rear end the car in front when the driver generously throttled his in traffic:facepalm:

We went to one dealer who refused to do anything with nfu discount, he did £2000 dealer discount off list price. Dealer we had it from did the nfu discount and it was 17.5% off list price or £4500 off but you pay toyota direct so no more discount. Izuzu was 4% off on top of dealer discount. Nissan I think was £2250 off set price. Ford ranger 15% off on top of dealer discount but 8 months waiting apparently. Discount changes quarterly I think so new prices out today.

Sports mode! it's a ruddy pickup tuck. Presumably it will only be a matter of time before it's an option on tractors :eek:

Mine has a power button and an eco button.in power mode it revs harder before changing up and really can't tell any difference between normal and eco.my truck is an auto which don't really help.also fuel gauge is not that accurate.tank holds nearly 18 gallons,80litres to be precise and this morning it took 42 litres to fill and gauge showed a little over 1/4 full.
