New tractor - what tyres?

What size of tyre are people putting on their drill tractor for no-till. We're running 3 metre drills behind a 160 hp tractor.

Thinking Michelin R42 and 650s or 710s. 710s might be too big for the bit of ploughing we'll need to do occasionally.

Also what tyre pressure do you go for - as low as possible? Or not bothered...? Having air brakes opens up a world of possibilities.

Hi, I use 650 rear 600 front, if you drop the pressure they have masses of footprint, it also means we can plough without being on land. If I could spec a tyre I'd go trelleborg tm800, I know everyone loves Michelin but I find our ground too abrasive and get lots of sidewall trouble with flints. Bkt are good for cheapies.

I would agree on the Xeobibs, they are the bees knees, and I plough with them using KV no28 boards with no issues.
An other option is 650/75/38's, Michelin do them as a Machxbib and Trelly do them as a TM900HP

610 front and 710 rear michelins on our 724 - 42 " unfortunately as we couldn't fit 38's Michelin on a 700 series Fendt due to rolling radius but if you can get 38's on they are the better lower pressure tyre with much more air volume under the tractor

That's said I'm very pleased with the 42's especially on such a well balanced and lightweight little tractor it's the perfect drilling combo IMO

Can get 38 inch tyres that are 2.15 meter tall. This argument is not true

But no michelins so you loose what you could gain in the form of a lower tech tyre with smaller footprint due to lack of sidewall flex

Xeobib and a axiobib in a different league to other brands but at a price of course !

You can get 710/70r38 on a 700 series:scratchhead:

Not a Michelin you can't, not unless something has changed since August d I have zero interest in other tyre brands

Was told this direct by factory - the 710 38" xeobib rolling radius won't fit under fenders

Just checked the website and yes you can either have Michelin, Trelleborg or continental in that size. And they are £500 cheaper than xeobibs(y)

I think there is a bit of a misunderstanding.
You can fit 38" Xeobibs, but they are only 710/60/38's and would be way too small for what you want.
You can also fit Michelin 710/70/38's, but they only make them in their Machxbib range, which doesn't use the "ultraflex" and so is not near as good for what you want.
You can't fit 710/85/38 Axiobibs.

In short if you want a flex sidewall Michelin on your tractor the best 710 on the 724 is therefore the 42" xeobib
