The reality is that the blue and greens could form a government without Winston and both parties could get something done, problem is that the greens aren't actually "green" but more like shite red, and their inability to work and or compromise over the last 9 years and the "Turei" debarcle basically means the vote for the greens has been a wasted vote. The coment that the youth would determine the out come of this election (Jacinderella/Taxcinda) or women (Rachel "Toxic" Stewart) just didn't eventuate, the out come of this election was determinded by the ......OAP's and old people:rolleyes:.
Personally I'm not too bothered with a Labour /Green /Winston First coalition, because I can't see it lasting a full electoral term!:sneaky::D
That's pretty much what I was going to say, with less swearing.
For farmers- and exporters in general - we often do really quite well at the start of a Labour term (because the dollar turns to monopoly money) before reality sets in, we can't afford socialist policy with our relatively small population base, and "entitlement culture"

Nah, I don't watch the gogglebox, what were his thoughts on the Greens

He reckons the greens should stop whining and talk to national and at least try and achieve something instead of banging on about how everyone is doing it wrong
Story here.
https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/po...responsibility-to-talk-to-national-jim-bolger

I think they'll just wait 3 years though and team up with labour next time as I think ,assuming they get in this time, it will be nationals last go for a bit.

Imagine the look on Winston's face if they did team up and cut him out:D:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I think who ever goes with Winston ,will be like a poisoned chalice, but if we get a Labour/Green/NZ First coaltion I think it will be only one term because I can't see Winston and the Greens cooperating or whoever is the Labour leader is keeping it together, relentless positivity just won't cut it:sneaky::rolleyes::D

It’s a stupid system that allows a 75yr old who’s party only attracted less than 8 out of 100 voters have the power to determine who governs a country for the next term. Nine countries tried out MMP, only 4 have kept it, Germany, Japan, Lesotho and us!
As far as a Blue/Green government goes, I think it would be good, Merkel is doing it, but Shaw would be scared of the crazies in his party though I heard today that he hasn’t ruled it out which is a change from what he said on election night. The trouble with the Greens is that they have the mindset of a activist group not a political party.

If only the Greens rebranded themselves, I think the "Clayton's Party" would be apt for the current bunch.........

Thanks @kiwi pom
He did!
Shows how little I know about my friends from the UK, we bought tea-bags especially for @holwellcourtfarm
...and they'd rather drink coffee!!
:p:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Assumptions! The work of the devil. Actually we do like a tea first in the morning but otherwise we're a coffee fuelled household.

Coffee is now considerably more popular than tea in England.

And here's me telling folk off for making generalisations about NZ...
I LIVE for coffee. I get about 3 hours tops between them. Or I'm a headachy wreck with the yawns....
I could just sleep I guess, "people die in their beds"

Not so sure about that,165million cups of tea are drunk in the uk per day compared to 70 millon cups of coffee

Nobody asked me either, but don't worry the amount of tea I drink will make up for all your coffee
both can become a drug if over consumed.
Modesty in consumption is the trick.
Or the dosage is more like coloured water

Merkel & green coalition:
It's not a done deal over here jet. Might get still a going on with the previous coalition.
If we get the greens in power it will mean:
- less green energy from methane digesters (tooo costly & originally initiated by the green party when in power)
- tax on pesticide usage
- ban on Glyphosate
- much higher environmental strict law's
- more organic farming
- reducing chemical usage in conv. by >50% within the next 4 years
