Well the deals finally done, New government, Labour, NZ first and the Greens.
There may be trouble ahead:unsure:
I struggled to "like" that post :banghead:
Good for export for the next couple of years, the dollar will creep to it's knees..

Must go fix my mortgage  it's due to be re negotiated on Monday, and I think it's prudent. Bye bye 5%

How ridiculous, a 72yr who more than 90% didn’t vote joining with a party than came 2nd and a bunch of greens who barely made it into parliament and now have no power. In some ways the Nats may be better off to stay out of it till next time and let the other self destruct.
The curse of the poisoned chalice starts now, for whom its first victim will be, for that we will have to wait and see.......Winston didn't look that healthy today:unsure:

Isn't it ironic, Labour day :banghead:

Great news for those with nothing to lose!!
Ah well, I don't put money on it lasting 3 years, and Winnie gets his swansong.
Time to adjust priorities for us .
The last Labour day that I had off was back in ......1989!!! I think it will go OK for 12 months , start to unravel after 18 months and implode between 24-36 months.
Box of beer says it will bee all over before the next election.

You say the Labour government with the Greens and Winston First will expire before the expiry date on the box of beer?(y):)
My prediction is, he will commit to fudge all, and aim to get in front of the camera as much as practically possible (y)
Whether they all stick depends on Winstons desire to cooperate, he's waited decades to be in the limelight.
Although, he is the best leader in the whole shebang, even if slightly out of whack sometimes, and I was just asking on another thread where all the leadership went out of politics. So it's not all bad.
The anti farming policies don't scare me because I don't use irrigation, nitrogen, or have effluent to get rid of, and the weakest possible dollar will help me in the meantime,, will just adjust our businesses to capitalise on changes as they happen and go about my day.

I didn't even know the news until kiwi pom's post on here
Have been out tailing lambs in the sunshine, Nige asked if we wanted the news on to hear the verdict.
My response - "I don't think you brought enough p!ss, mate, I bet I know who he'll choose- and he won't get enough out of National to suit him"

That was my official Speights verdict.

The way Winston was talking tonight, it was as if he was going to kick the bucket! If he does , then what?

It amused me that he started talking the economy down before he announced his decision, basically the place is already buggered so you cant blame me in a year when its all gone wrong
Ah well my old work mates are in pay negotiations soon, the union said they needed a labour government behind them:greedy:
Unless the greens get them to ban dairy farming:(

It really depends how much you have to lose IMHO.
The have-nots tend to do much better under Labour, whereas traditionally the Nat government has better spinoffs for the country and economy as a whole

Like all red vs blue debates they are vastly different fighters, the unfortunate part is our country is now being run by the opposition parties (not the "runners")
Will be a bumpy ride but I'm not convinced the promises will come to much. Do they ever?
