Don't worry I am not in a health scheme but test the particular animals. At the moment it comes back very good so I maybe ought to go into a scheme but I struggle to see the benefit with Lincoln Red's because the powers that be(ie Council ) do not want to pay a premium for animals, which should be the case between pedigree herds!. I hope that a change of Auctioneers will help them realise the way to go.
The (mafia) have tried to keep a little club! But there are now a number of new members and that I hope will change.

Paul Gentry was very good. He would talk and give his opinion to anyone. Hopefully Scott Donaldson and his team will do the same. He actually sold our surplus High Index Pedigree Suffolks at Hexham Mart several years ago. Looking forward to bumping into him again!

Well from early impressions he's not made a good start at NWA, was at the recent store cattle sale and has put a few folks backs up already, one described him as a clown and another as immature, feel sorry for the young lads already there who have done a good job in difficult circumstances.
Did he leave Newark or was he pushed @Lovegoodstock seems a strange appointment whatever the case

I can’t see Gary taking orders off him they do a good job without taking more auctioneers on

First impressions are very important...i was in J36 on saturday talking to one of the regular vendors there. We both agreed that if he just stood by quietly for 2 or 3 months and observed how things are done up here he might be ok, the jury is out!

I'm not saying anything against Paul Gentry, he helped us all. I just think it is unfair on Newark to get a Lim sale pencilled in and then withdraw it!!

I know Melton Mowbray have been pushing for more pedigree sales for a while now, they wrote to the blonde society last year basically asking can they host a sale.
But like others have said it seems a bit underhand to take the Lim sale away when I'm sure plans were already in action at Newark if it was on their calender.

An Announcement from the Directors of Newark Livestock Market

Made today Saturday 2nd February 2019 from the Rostrum and Plank prior to Prime Sheep & Store Cattle Sales

Doug has asked me to say a few words on his behalf

He thought that it was the time to share with you our loyal market customers our future plans for Newark. We are very proud of the way that our Young Team have all pushed forward in recent months and the support that we have had from you all our customers both buyers and vendors is marvellous!

Contrary to recent rumours Newark Livestock Market with the support of its Landlords Newark & Sherwood District Council is here to stay. We are delighted to be welcoming Harrison & Hetherington to Newark in a joint venture to expand our Pedigree Sales of both Cattle and Sheep and together with the Carlisle based Auctioneers we will build our successful sales of pedigree cattle and sheep into the best in the East side of the country.

This new team has been welcomed by all the Breed Societies with more Breeds coming to Newark to sell their pedigree stock. We kick off with English Premier Show & Sale on 23rd March with Lincoln Reds, Simmentals and Salers represented, a week later British Blue Day on March 30th also welcomes the Blonde Society for the first time. The Longhorn Cattle Society will sell at our Autumn sales for the first time and the Angus Society will be back in Newark.

Sadly, we have lost the advertised Limousin Society Sale. However, we shall be holding sales of Pedigree Limousin Cattle and dates will be published shortly.

Sheep wise we are delighted to be associated with the Texel, Beltex and many other Breed Associations in respect of various Sales of Ewes with Lambs at Foot, Breeding Males and Females and In Lambers, culminating in Novembers Winter Warmers Sale! Both MV accredited and non-accredited sheep will be presented at these sales.

We, the Team at Newark are looking forward to continuing to welcome you to our Sales and we are all delighted to help you all at any time.

Chairman
