NEWBIE HELP NEEDED - CHILLTON MX LOADER

Hi, and apologies for a bit of a "needy" first post.

We have just bought a new (to us!) Case 895XL with a Chillton MX loader.

Everything seems to work well (apart from maybe a little leak on the hydraulics quick coupler) - but i had to take it off today as i needed to get to some wiring that i couldn't reach with the loader on.

I have eventually managed to get it off, but was a right drama, and not without some pocking and prodding.

The main problem seems to surround the black handled release levers that I had presumed you just lift up to unlock and slide the loader off the rails.

the handles on my loader just seem to float in mid air, and the only way i was able to get the square pins to raise up enough to allow the loader to disengage and slide off.

I have had to use a combination of long screwdriver as a lever, and some 2" timber to act as a wedge to bring the locking pins up high enough.

There doesn't seem to be any broken or missing fixings, but without the wood, i can't see any other way of holding the locking pin up against its spring ?

Surely this can't be right ? Am i missing some special removal tool, or something even more obvious ?

It’s long time since we had a loader like that, but if I remember correctly - if the loader hasn’t been dropped of for a long time the pins did have a habit of sticking in and there was a definite ‘knack’ to lifting them. I think basically you pull the lever forward to help free the pin and then lift the handle up as you push it back. The end of the pin should rest on one the little ledges in your picture so that as you drive the tractor back into the loader to reconnect it the pins should drop back down automatically as they line up.
Hopefully somebody will reply that is better explaining this than me.

To unlatch it pull the lever forwards sharply then physically push it up and the latching pins will sit on a ledge.

Reversed the tractor way.

The latching pins drop a little bit and when you drive back in the tags on the loader knock the pins off the ledge & lock the loader on.

One of the best locking mechanisms there is.

Thanks - I wasn’t sure if I was missing anything or not !

there didn’t seem to be any obvious latch to hold the pins up, hence the wood blocks.

I’ll take a better look later - thanks for your help

Get all wd40 on it.
Trouble is if not taken on and off regularly all sticks and driving very slow and cautiously not work correctly.
Be safe whatever.
I know drive in bit more fierce does trick sometimes too.
