NFU insurance is it a premium product?
My renewal has come in over 15% increase yoy which feels excesssive.
Had a quote off a competitor for substantially less but
the main difference is NFU is the actual insurer where as
the alternative is a broker through a 3rd party.
Been with NFU a long time what are other peoples experiences?

No premium other than the increased premium. What premium could they possibly offer? Everything is itemised, just quote like for like.

I'm finding my broker leaves it until two weeks or later before my policy expires before I get a renewal notice from him. He's determined to make it as difficult as possible for me to get other quotes.
Exactly the same here.should have been here mid august and still waiting .told em 2 weeks ago when I also took truck insurance to aviva for less than half what they wanted.guess I’ll be on phone again in morning

How does that make it difficult? I can't see why you can't get a quote of anyone else until he quotes.

To answer the op 15% increase isn't out of the way. somewhere along the lines of inflation. Compare it to others all the same and you will find the quote easy to reduce by half in my experience.
There is no premium service from NFU any more so I am not paying for one, I will go with whoever gives a good quote as long as it is a firm I feel are trustworthy (I have heard of).
