Cut meat and dairy intake 'by a fifth', report urges https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-51210622

According to this article on the BBC news website the NFU ‘welcomes’ much of the report. Any comments from NFU staff on here? Don’t know your tags but there are some I recall. Even worse the report recommends taxing these products if their advice isn’t followed. I hope the NFU will be taking legal action against the BBC over this if untrue?

Batters was good ....she does know how to put a point over however.....not many of the younger generation will be up listening to R4 . The NFU just need to get the message out to more diverse channels not just the likes of R4 and BBC1. The message is good so push it out on every avenue possible . Don't wait for media to ask but chase the media with the message and get it out there .

I thought that Minnette Batters did a good job on Radio 4 just now, promoting a healthy, balanced, unprocessed diet and pointed out the water and carbon footprint of a lot of vegan alternatives.

The problem is how many people hear that at 7am compared to flick through the website throughout the day, taking in a very different view of the story. An initial press release by the NFU has seemingly been twisted to the BBC agenda but there is the problem. The NFU continually attempt to keep everybody on side but without putting across a strong unambiguous stance on matters in statements this will continue to happen. It is easy to preach to the converted on Farming today and in the farming press
