NH CX grain lids

I would say yes but only for a short time as the bubble up auger folds in half in the tank, to be fair that was my worry when we bought our first cx back in 2008, but I always fold mine out fully and just harvest around the trees/ low branches, the crop underneath is hardly worth harvesting and I try not to drill it anyway as I know I can’t get in with the combine.
powerlines are a different story. I’ve been known to cut a bout either side of the line if theres a high point somewhere to get under, in the same direction to save going under it.

I’m sure that on one of Russells combine training course, David Hurst said that you could but could only fill tank til the 3/4 alarm went off. I’ve not had anyone confirm this so starting to doubt myself whether he actually said it

You can.....but the alarm will keep going off reminding you.

Also, if you fill the tank too far, the lids will pop out of the runner mechanism and it's a bit of a pain to get back together.

I don't recommend it, but it is possible if needed...
