NH T4.95

Got a 9 month old t4.55 2wd on scraper. Done 500 hrs. No major issues and nice little thing to drive. Lots of horror stories of the older styles eating clutches every 1000 hrs but others will be able to tell which model that is better than I can. Hopefully ours won’t be facing the same problem!
Hydraulics a bit slow but cab nice for a small tractor

Are the Massey Global series any heavier? Worth a look ? What sort of work do you want it for?

It’s to replace a DB/Case 1494 2wd.

Runs the straw chopper & bale unroller in the winter and fert/spray/tedding/bale wrapping spring/summer. Fert spreader takes 1500kg max and sprayer is 800L/12m boom

Previous scraper was dB 1290 and new t4 is much smaller and lighter. Think you need t5 or similar of another colour. Wouldn’t handle Fert or sprayer I wouldn’t have thought

Ah ok. Thanks for that. I’ll look elsewhere then!

A current T4 will do what you want quite happily and run rings around an old Brown (older T4 quite a light tractor for loader work - a T5 ElectroCommand is the nearest upgrade to a T5000 so I don't know why anyone would have looked to a T4!). Also look at a T5 utility - DualCommand transmission, simpler and less costly than a T5 ElectroCommand. We have both models out with customers doing your jobs very well. The most recent T4.55 I sold has a loader on it and is used for scraping and yard duties on a 300 cow dairy farm and is only 1 of two tractors that chap has. We have a lot of councils and utility contractors who have purchased them as well and they seem to stand the test of time with uncaring operators!

If it’s not a rude question roughly how much is a new T4.55/65 2wd new? They appear to be really good value used and make older 1980s tractors look dear in comparison

New t4.55 2wd last March was £21,500 I think but no puh or air conditioning. Probably bit more now but I’d be interested to hear what others can get it for. Case is the same tractor so another option if available. Don’t think ours would handle a sprayer.

Not much more than that the other week when I looked. They are an ace tractor for around the yard scraping etc... with power shuttle

This T4 is a 2014 so how would that compare weight wise? Could always put a front linkage on to put the weights a bit further forward haha.
Not so bothered about loader work as we’ve got that covered with the telehandler.
Only got 125 acres so not like it’s going to have a massive workload

It will be fine. My friends use a T5.105 on a hustler bale unroller and it is more than boss of it. It’s the main tractor on around 600 acres

I would say it will cope fine. Best go and have a drive and make your own mind up, I'm sure you'll know if it feels right.
