No I bought it separately, but the computer has an option for barifeed/draper which is what I’ve changed it too.
That might not necessarily work though.
How it should work is this:
On the back of your Command shift lever should be a ‘shift’ button (sometimes there are two of them, though on yours, i doubt it). You press it with your index finger and at the same time move the front of the Command shift rocker switch that operates the real ‘for and aft’.

That back switch operates a diverted valve on the header that changes the rocker switch action from real for and aft to the vari-feed rams.

If your old header didn’t have any such diverted valve, your 880 might not be wired up to operate one.
You really need to speak to a dealer’s mechanic to find out how to make it work.

It it was me, I’d fit a seperate circuit using a seperate rocker switch running the wires to that diverted valve (but with a detachable plug and socket somewhere near where the straw elevator meets the header.

Give me 5 mins and I’ll take some photos.

On the back of your header, there will be be an electrically operated solenoid diverted valve that changes the oil delivery from the reel ‘for and aft’ to the ’vari-feed’ rams.

The shift lever should be on the back of you Command shift (orange) lever that when pressed with your index finger will change the action of the reel four and aft toggle lever on the front of the Command shift.

If you havent got this or the Combine isn’t wired up for it, you could fit an additional switch, wired into to ignition key (dont forget a fuse!) running to a cable with a plug and socket like this:

I need this extra circuit to operate yet another diverted valve on my Dual Stream header to raise and lower the DS knife between its transport and work positions.
It is powered from the auxiliary power socket next to the cigar lighter, through a switch with a light on it that shows it is ’on’, that I put in a blanked off hole between the Emergency stop button and the ignition key:

@willy , you could use exactly this type of system to operate your vari-feed circuit.

You might need to enable it in the computer.
There will be a section for header and you then get a list of header types. You then get a varifeed header option and there might also be another varifeed setting to enable aswell. That is providing your combine has all the wiring in place

Also I would add that can you actually feel pressure in the ram feed pipes or can you hear the hydraulic circuit operating ? Mine for some reason wouldn't move at all on season even securing it against an RSJ and using that to pull it out. I soaked the runners etc with an oil diesel mixture and it eventually freed it off. Sometimes they will rust up on the runners if not been cleaned out and oiled at the end of the season.

On mine a leaking pipe in the chassis to one of the rams stopped it pushing out
I saw oil leaking
but it may be one of the runners is jammed if the pipes pressure up
you do need to regularly retract fully and the push out fully as in the instruction book to keep it even
if it gets out of line or bent on the middle join it can cause a jam
did on my first version pre 2012

which header version
