Nixon steam cleaner

Got a steam cleaner that seems to be putting too much diesel into the burner. It fires up ok but smokes way too much and when you stop washing it keeps on burning in the bottom. If you use for any length of time you would think its going explode! Any ideas what to look at before I call the engineer.

Burner nozzle probably. Theres also an adjuster screw on the fuel pump for fuel pressure or flow but no reason that should alter by it's own accord unless it's been fiddled with.

It's funny cause they smoke like buggery if they run out of fuel😆🙈 flame must go out but a bit keeps dribbling in on the hot coil/burner chamber🤔

Had one once where it must of been run on some mucky fuel and had a dodgy ignitor. Cleaned fuel system out and tried it, there must of been a fair amount of fuel in it judging by the smoke and the 12” of flame from the top of burner for a fair few seconds!!!
