Hi have a single phase Nixon not firing burner up, and had been smoking a lot in the last few weeks. Checked fuel filter between tank and pump and was choked so cleaned that then checked gauze on back of nozzle it was clean. Tried it on hot, fan kicked in but nothing, took outlet pipe of pump no fuel but plenty coming out of return weird . Thought then might be solenoid on pump took it of but not magnetizing checked voltage and getting 14vac at connector but not sure if that is right. Tried ohm meter on bottom 2 pins of solenoid and getting a reading of 2k . Took face plate of pump another gauze in there but was ok
So question is what's the snag solenoid, pump or something else entirely
Any advice appreciated

Whatever ignites the fuel 🤔
Haven’t they got like a spark plug type thingy. That’s what was wrong with ours, same symptoms different make.

Just had this problem with ours,On the pump there is a pressure switch which puts power to the coil on the fuel pump when the water is being used.
You could join the 2 wires from the switch to see if the coil energises properly.

Oh boys
There is a small glass fuse on the circuit board in the white box which will be blown .absolute bitch to get at but easy fix
Any problem with a Nixon just give them a ring and they’ll give you the answer ,far easier than 20 different answers
