NMEA into isobus terminal

Help please, I'm out of my depth!

I'd like to try out the parallel guidance on the isobus terminal that I've inherited with a baler. The screen is a rauch CCI800, which has 50 hours free evaluation time.

What I don't know is how to connect the NMEA signal from my existing GPS antenna into the rs232 serial input on the cable.

I presume I'll need some sort of receiver to convert the signal from the powered sma connector on the antenna lead, into a serial rs232 output for the isobus terminal?

And what in the world is this tiny 4 pin rs232 connector on the isobus wiring loom? RS232 was 9 pin when I was at school (which I'll admit wasn't yesterday 😭)

Apologies if this is a silly query!

Like most things RS232, has evolved over the years. In the beginning it was 25 pins. Do you have the pin outs for the RS232 4 pin connector? I am guessing it is designed to be plugged into a 4 pin RS232/USB adapter. Perhaps the USB side would be plugged into the terminal.

The manual gives the impression that the RS232 connector is just a proprietary solution, an adapter cable should exist that bridges a GPS receiver and the screen.

Do you mean your existing GPS antenna is "just" an antenna with a coax cable. Which receiver did you use with that antenna? You would need a GNSS receiver with the antenna and the GNSS receiver would provide NMEA from an RS232 port.
