Reports on BBC that there has been a collision between a tractor & trailer and a train at an unmanned railway crossing near Roudham in Norfolk. Fortunately only a few ((6 i think) injured on the train and i don't think too severely, but the tractor driver has been seriously injured.

Thoughts are with those injured and those that know them.

It's a Richard Western drill filler, we had one the same

Looks messy, hope the driver is ok, it said that he had serious injuries but not life threatening

Looks nasty, very glad no one was killed, including all the train passengers and driver as no one seems to have mentioned them yet.
The thing we seldom get to see with accidents like this is the results of the investigation, which is a shame as there is usually something we can learn from them.

I have a level crossing for the farm on the North Island Main Trunk line, the one thing I have learnt is "You never get a second chance with a train." You have to be very pedantic in useing a level crossing, more so with ones in farms.

Actually RAIB publish the results of all rail accident investigations on their website - it's just that they are darn slow and can take over a year. For instance, the report into the Oakwood Farm incident in May last year is only in the consultation phase so could be several more months before publication for what is a relatively simple incident.

I lost a friend a few years ago one. I think people get too casual about the trains. I feel very sorry for the train drivers, it must be a horrific experience to see anything in front of you tractor car or suicide when you know you cannot stop.
Yes that's what I always think too not being able to do anything must be terrible bet allot of people don't even think of that angle

I know that many London Underground drivers never drive again after seeing a bad suicide in front of them. I suspect the same applies for overground trains. I wish a speedy recovery to all involved in this incident.

There are some alarming videos around of total pillocks crossing railways when the warnings are flashing, both vehicle and on foot.
