Think my missus got odourless soap in Tesco. Gets put away in a safe place until the next inspection. Remember a towel for drying your hands, also bucket, brush and approved disinfectant for them when they arrive.
Never had much bother tbh, as has been said, some inspectors are more agreeable than others.

I get gallon jars of hospital grade hand cleanser with my buying group chemical order, normally from Central chemicals portadown. It's unscented and colourless. Faint whiff of alcohol, but very faint. So definitely not perfumed. It's good stuff.

I’ve been FQAS for years for the beef so have all feed/meds records. One time forgot to have disinfectant, bucket and brush for inspector arrival. Posted in receipt for disinfectant. Not acceptable. Didn’t prove I had bucket and brush on the farm! FFS.
Vet has to fill in five pages for RT. Did any vets charge for this and if so,how much?

Cobwebs/dust on the roof of the parlour and dairy is one of the things they do like to pick up on. On the scent free soap, I've actually had one inspector sniff the soap to check, really had to bite my tongue on that occasion. A bar if Simple soap does the trick. If you've been FQAS, you'll know the drill, treat it like the mot, sort out any obvious stuff, then let them tell you what they want sorted out. It's the paperwork that floats their boat, if that's in order, you'll be grand, and remember,it only needs to be done for them to tick their box,it doesn't necessarily need to make sense. If your vet charges for all that they need to do, I'd change vets! Ours doesn't.
Yes it's a pain in the hole, but I can honestly say,in the 6/7 years we've been RT,I've never had an issue with any of the inspectors. Although we dodged the bullet this year, when we got the inspection date this year,I postponed it for 3 weeks, and it turned out that the inspector's boss had intended to shadow him on that date to assess him. Now that would have been fun.

I've had one of those. The inspector being inspected. ?

Our vet does charge now. We do spend a good half hour or more talking through the issues. I use it to learn as much as I can about changes and developments, because I seldom see them. Other than regular TB test that is.

Most guys/ladies are sensible, one I've had sat pouring over medicine records looking for faults for what seemed like an age. But he's got a reputation for being an unnecessary pain.

Don't wash the parlour before they come and they won't be looking for cobwebs. Ordourless soap gets set out for the inspection and put away again. Never had a tanker driver ask to wash their hands they all wear gloves. A few years ago they wanted an outside light for the milk tanker its never used either they ask have big LED spotlights on the back to see

They didn’t like my raspberry scented soap, I usually just get it in Asda every couple of weeks. The tanker driver uses it at least. I’d a gate with baler twine tied to it and he wasn’t too impressed with that either not that it was even doing anything but that’s a minor problem to solve.
