What way u do that?
Dont bother with fairy liquid buy the solution a lot more accaurate not that dear about 25 euro for a full kit including paddle . If milk turns the colour of milky coffee and doesent thicken quarter is fine . A slightly darker colour then higher cell count turns to jelly big problem. Its a very handy tool for finding sub clinical mastitis .

Discard the foremilk , then a few squirts from each qyarter into the compartments of the paddle. Take care not to mix the milk when youre at it .
A squirt of solution into each sample abd gently shake the paddle to mix .
Aquarter that goes the colour of milky coffee is under 100,000 more of a yellow colour but not sticky 2 to 3 00,000. If it gets a littke thick and will spread when you
" catch " it between your thumb c and forefinger then its close to a million .
Goes to jelly then 3 or 4 million . Thats how it was explained to me years ago in the good old days of the Dublin District Milk Board . The gave a chart showing the various reactions and their corresponding cell counts but its long gone .
You will get good at it after a while .

I use one of these, much quicker in the parlour, especially if your doing a lot of cows trying to find one culprit .
Use fairy liquid at one part fairy to four parts water. My vet recons fairy is more sensitive than the proper CMT fluid.

You're gutsy. Hope it works out for you. Mine is well ready too, getting shot actually, but it mizzled today here right up to about 2 o'clock. Weathers being a right pain. The lands looking greasy. Going to be hard to dry it in these conditions.

Maybe I’m just young & stupid[emoji23] we had good weather today with no rain but plenty of wind and sun pepping out every now and again. Gives rain tomorrow at 5pm so pressure will be on but all being well it’ll be in by then. Fingers crossed

There's no right answer in this weather. Only the least worst answer. You can only do your best. Happy chopping.
