This is the first year we put the cows out at night in a long time. Was nice not having to scrape and bed cubicles all through the summer and a lot less slurry to get rid of now.

Seems to be that 'most' of those grazing full time are not in North Antrim, I've been trying to think of a local herd in a 5 or 6 mile radius from here (a couple of miles from Mosside) and I sure there are ones but in a very strong dairy area they would be the exception

And the clue is in the wording, "Mosside" , you can hardly expect it to be a dry part of the world!

Weekend not looking good. Think we're in for another washout like Tuesday night. Too many of those and it will come to an end regardless of what grass is out there. Grass wise, a fair bite in front of me at the moment, pending the five mouths getting going.

Last year cows went in 1st of October. Got them back out (daytime) 7th of October and they stayed out till early November. So you never know.

I was thinking about Z's saying this evening as I took them in, I think tomorrow or possibly Saturday if it holds off until the afternoon and I think that's it...remember I'm close to Mosside so it can't be dry!!
