Does anyone know what next weeks weather forecast is? I know it's settled for the rest of this week but somebody said snow for next week! I was going try the cows out tomorrow again but they'd be better in if snow is coming.

At the moment indications seem that pressure will drop by the end of the weekend, with a low established over the British isles by Tuesday/Wednesday. Winds flowing from the NW. By Easter weekend wind looks to swing round to south westerly, though pressure may still be low.

In short - cooler and unsettled through to Thursday, possibly turning milder after that. I'd think that talk of snow is the usual nonsense that accompanies weather gossip. It'll be in drifts at the back door after me saying that :nailbiting:. Depends a lot on altitude though - i haven't seen a flake this winter yet...

Wouldn't surprise me if there was yet another run of bad weather, been a funny old start to the year that's for sure.

For silage ground that hasn't had slurry yet, would you's be inclined to sow before slurry at this stage, always would have them done end of Feb and sow when the heat came in early April?

Depends when you are putting slurry on,I think you need to leave a week or so for the plant to use the N from slurry. Getting the pipe with trailing shoe on Friday..too much grass for splash plate.

Get them out hungry and backfence them into it for a few hours. It's amazing how little harm they do if they're off it before they start lying down or walking about. The grazing will beat them soon once it does pick up

Heard a couple of people talking about snow for next week, but the forecasts I've seen look to be giving temperatures in and around 10 deg.

If you watch BBC news channel ch 80 or 503 on sky at 9.55 on a weekday night you get the weather for the next 10 days. It's very good. At 9.27 you get the world weather
