Northern Ireland Milk Price Tracker

Well,that's some weather!
Has everybody got it in yet?
I wanted to put mine in the other day but The Wife said" No,it's too short. Just wait til it grows a bit."
Not fair.
Why's mine so short?
Wee Willy.
Reading between the lines suggests Mrs willy wears the trousers. Can you put her on from now on as she seems too know what she's talking about. She scares me

Sometimes it's good to be small! Just continuing my theme.
On a serious note Z,did your protein lift when the cows went out?
Slightly. 2.97. Cows are out at night. 5th night out. Need more progress
I've a funny feeling we're going a+b-c in the future so I need to fix it now. Any one else suffering from grass fever. Got a bit of it myself but too early. Planning for 21st but will go after 15 th if weather is good

Must be the only person in the country that wouldn't mind seeing rain. Put slurry late on with a dribble bar and it hasn't rained since, grass doing real well, but the lines of slurry still sitting in the grass. Will end up bringing it into the clamp.... Not good.

Weather was too good to miss so we put it in on Thursday. Would have preferred more bulk, but we're happy to have it in and covered.
The top field is for coming back into the grazing rotation, so has been sown out and received 2500 gal/ac of dirty water. With growth rates and the minimal amount of rain in the forecast, we'll need it

Do you notice the tree in the foreground has no leaves yet? Was shifting the fencer tonight and counted 6 trees with no leaves yet,I think they were ash. Is this some sort of sign of weather to come,good/bad?
Well done on getting grass in . I've still a bay in the silo, gently rotting, but the pessimist in me says I might need it yet!

Mine are out at night a week now.2.92 protein. Had a notion of next year instead of buying my replacements Willy nilly in various marts,I would maybe chance a batch of those Southern black girls i.e. Fres x Jer. Scared I might end up with a batch of black runts with quality but very little quantity in the milk department. I do like to see the milk meters in double figures!

It's an Ash tree, pretty normal for this time of year around here. We get quite low night time minimums here, we're a couple of miles from the Katesbridge weather station and even had a slight frost this morning

My plan for next winter is to get a ration made up independently and get the mill to price it. No more wheat feed.soya hulls or palm kernal
Quality is OK but you still need volume. It's the money maker
Ps macron wins. Good for Europe

IF your not on a liquid contract then you have a massive opportunity to increase your milk price.
