Had red tractor inspection the day. Dunno about the rest of yous but it really gets me uptight. Such a hateful experience even though i couldnt say 1 bad word about the inspector as he was very fair. It really is the scourge of farming
I don't get as uptight as I used to about. The inspections when the cattle are in the house always seems worse.

Was speaking to a neighbour who had his inspection lately, asked him what he thought of the inspector and he replied he didn't care how fair or decent he'd been (which he was) he was guilty by association, and treated him accordingly. Don't know if he was wrong or right....

Well at the end of the day the inspector is only doing a job for a living and if it wasnt him it would be some1 else and like any other similar jobs theres people that do it decently and people whod deserve the electric chair. Its got to be said that farmers are fools for letting rt dictate to us as if every1 pointblank refused theyd still need our milk. Does farmers in mainland europe have to put up with this shite? Cant see the french havin to do it as they just seem to create a fuss the minute something isnt pleasing them which they are just right

I've only ever met one you deserved a proper slap across the jaw, I knew as soon as he refused a tea/coffee that it was heading downhill from the get go.

TBH I couldn't rate the last guy I had in Feb highly enough, someone who is actually a credit to the industry with their positive inspection attitude and feedback.

FQAS seem to be doing a decent job of recent advertising/marketing on TV/Social media.. I've paid more money and spent more time on worse things..

Mostly find the inspectors fair enough, two of them are brothers and live a couple of miles from here. Hasn’t caused a big lot of hassle since we've been in the scheme. Whether it's of any benefit is another question.

Not making light. What percentage of farmers do you think have poor mental health. I dread to think. What about autism/dyslexia. Nobody cares. Rt can be a minor issue for some but not all.😡
Your comment reads like this... ‘I can’t be bothered to comply with an assurance scheme therefore I will pretend I have a mental illness to get out of it’
Whether or not RT is fit for purpose is irrelevant. I’d say there are a lot of farmers struggle with it, hence my initial comment, therefore I think it would be better to try and reduce the stigma rather than keep it!

Mental health is a real problem which absolutely cripples some people. They are not workshy bluffers as some people portray. There are some who do use it as an excuse but I don't believe your average farmer is like that. Lot of pressure out there at the moment which on top of a mental illness is going to go very hard on some people.
