We keep all our calves despite it being financially questionable and I don't agree with the live export of calves still on milk but.... the high moral ground outrage of the reporter and some of the contributors last night over minor things was ridiculous in my opinion.

So the world's biggest bonfire was in Craigyhill last night. At 210' tall, it would have made some wee calf pens.

Oh well, it's timber that definitely won't ever make into a slurry macerator!

Seems to be creeping up, a bit near hear made 300 this spring they're travelling 4/5 miles one way for the privilege. At 300 I'd be reluctant, at 400 I'm out. Trouble is come November they all need the same.

Too much money involved to risk it until November. If they want it up front off me they can go and hoke, slowly realising that I'd be better off financially and have an easier time keeping what I can keep on my own ground.
Then again it ain't easy letting the neighbour have it

If you knew the silage, would you not be better buying at £20-25/ bale or £30/T than renting ground? Four out of every five years there's loads of silage for sale. I know that one year hurts.

Its bad enough looking at our 2nd cut flat, without paying 400 dabs for the privilege of looking at more of it on someone elses land aswell. Really grim forecasts for as far as they show...

Put our 3rd cut in yesterday was ideal but it’ll make good enough silage just abit damper than would have liked glad to have it off the ground tbf
