Dear Farmers,
First off. Let me start of by saying thank you, for taking the time out to read this message and i hope all is well.
My name is Ranjit Gill, and am 29 years old and currently live in the Knighton Area of Leicester.
For the last month i have been trying to obtain legal permission, to go out and metal detect on fields with my household member (Ben Fleming Dufor). Now that the the social restrictions have been eased again, in regards to metal detecting we believe this to be the right time to start seeking permission again. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/guidanc...chaeological-finds-in-england-during-covid-19
We are both NCMD members, and covered and insured up to £10 Million Civil Liability. We pay huge respect to all land regardless who owns the land. I would like to now highlight some important key points that we like to call a code of conduct.
1) Any holes that are dug (8inch max) will be repotted to limit as much disturbance as possible.
2) Any items that are found will always be uploaded To the (PSA).
3) Any items if found that are deemed as Treasure will always be split fairly with the Landowner of 50/50 (if deemed of any value)
4) Any litter on the Field shall be picked up and trashed correctly including flytipping.
5) Any item that may be found with Names on it shall rightfully be returned to the owner if possible.
These Key Points that have been highlighted due to the fact that we feel and deem them to be off high importance. If there is anything missing that a Farmer would consider to be of high importance too him or her please let us know as we would always be wanting to show our willingness to work around the Farmer as we would be the guest. Also as NCMD members we do have access to official permission grant slips if needed. We are open minded people and hard workers so we also more then happy to consider volunteering work in exchange for field time/ permission. Also we would be more then happy to rent a field for a small but fair considerable amount a day.
Kind regards
R.Gill and B. Dufor
