Does anyone have a recommendation for a good odb11 scanner/reader. There are so many options it's hard to know where to start. Want to be be able to clear codes. I don't know if it's possible to get ones that can do a forced dpf regen. What have you got?

Now Then..
I'll be watching this with interest.. I want something that reads most codes from most cars. I've looked at Autel and recently the Launch range.
I don't mind spending a few hundred pounds, so long as it's updateable and will read future models without any subscription..

Recently had this problem. Hilux went to 3 independent garages none of which could manage to force it to do a Regen. I have been lead to believe only main dealer can do it.

In the end I found a re-mapper who was able to do it. I can dig out his nber if you wish?

This is the chap - really nice guy seems to be able to make the.computer do anything you want

I use an Ebay wi-fi dongle ('ELM312' I think) bought for about £12, paired to a £5 smartphone app. Works for the simple stuff like reading and clearing vehicle specific codes. Used it on a 3.2 ranger, 2x Jaguars, Kia Sorento, Skoda fabia.
Great for low cost diagnoses.

For stuff like forced re-gens I'm happy for the professionals* to take over.
(*- may or may not include franchised garages - i.e. operator specific)
