All you need to do is ask them the size of the systems they have

System size x 1314 = tier 1 payment

Once you know the size you’ll be able to differentiate between application with the majority on biomass. They’ll be no more then 2/3 years old with you understanding huge differences between 100s and 1,000s as per your original question.

Cant put chip on a pellet system. Cant fit a chip system on the site.
Pellets feed in more reliably. Burn better and are more consistent quality.
At time of my install 5 97kw pellet boilers paid much better tarrif than one large chip boiler. Cheaper installation too, Spreads the breakdown risk also.
Boilers are closer to the usage no underground pipes round site so no heat losses

@wasted years has AD so has no use of wood or pellets
