is there an easy way to get the plastic backing off a tube patch without ripping edge of patch , off tube , dont know why they dont split the back , I allowed it to dry all afternoon , still lifted the edge getting it off !

lol thats why i put question on the classic thread , all the ones with modern kit prob just get the tyre man in ,been there ..... i just leave it on not that i do many

yea thats what i did , then i get a kink on the edge , weak spot thenRoll it quite firmly with the roller pictured above and the plastic should come looser. Peel it from the middle out or maybe tear it round the edge in a curve.

yep , its all dried ok ,did you shake the glue?
Bend the patch sharply and the film splits across the halfway point
dont forget to let the glue go off a bit before putting the patch on
could be mending punctures is a bit of a dark art like sharpening shearing gear...
sounds good, any excuse ..Make a cup of tea and let it brew to make sure the glue has gone off sufficiently...
