Could well be, but flea beetle damage too. Look at the munching on the left cotyledon that isn’t all the way through the leaf.Second one is slug damage wouldn't you say?
I used to. Slight change of policy now, gone conventional variety and full rate, going to accept a yield penalty for better weed control, hopefully.going to start next week but going to blank off every other coulter so row spacings will be 13 inches to help branching out. anyone tried that ?
I have some beetle damage but hopefully below the threshold to spray, it's fairly romping away, been in a fortnight todaythat we put in last monday /tuesday is emerging rain and warm soil is helping ,now on slug and beetle watch
hoping we can manage without insecticide, but will go with a low rate phos mang foliar feed as soon as a green covering puts the blighters off and helps growthI have some beetle damage but hopefully below the threshold to spray, it's fairly romping away, been in a fortnight today
I like your thinking, had seed bed fym and gypsum, slugs really don't like gypsum, then Liquid N + So3 in the seedbed.hoping we can manage without insecticide, but will go with a low rate phos mang foliar feed as soon as a green covering puts the blighters off and helps growth
Will you be trying the 5lt/ha Mn you mentioned elsewhere?A few plants with shot holes already. Sown 12/8/21
Yep. Better order an IBC first. We’ll use it in the spring if not. Will you be trying the 5lt/ha Mn you mentioned elsewhere?
When would you apply it?Yep. Better order an IBC first. We’ll use it in the spring if not.
Why do you think the campus did so well? Just shear plant numbers? I was happy with mine. Possibly not quite as good as the Extar but a poorer field and later flowering which on a year like last was a bonus. After dark when the beetle are active in the crop. I’ve no idea if it works or not. I did mix it with Hallmark and the crop still got hammered by larvae in the stems.
Ours has stalled at cotyledon due to dry weather. Best time to sow …. before a decent rain. If only forecasts were accurate.
