The steering orbitrol on my 3125 has packed up. It's a Danfoss OSPC. Does anywhere repair them? Could I do it myself? Genuine part is £625...

Yr actual Danfoss Orbitrol rarely packs up. So rare in fact I'd suspect everything else first..
Is it's oil supply good?? Are t steering cylinder seals ok?? Or do you have brake failure with debris in the oil causing the spools in th Orbitrol to stick??
Have you spoken to your dealer??

The dealer says orbitrol. If you give it a little nudge the steering wheel turns on its own. Pump pressure is 160bar when the prv blows, the service manual says 170. Rear spools are fine (tandem pump), filters have been changed in the dot since we've had it.

I bought a couple recently off local jcb stealers for a old 3cx and a 530-70 one was half that and other was less than half.

B and N Hydraulics have done them in past for me but last one off a lm435 they didnt fix the fault but they did credit me back but not for my time buggering about pulling every thing else apart and questioning every little thing and coming back to my original diagnosis.
Should have the danfoss numbers on it something like ospc 200 ls maybe? Get that and ring hydraulic equipment suppermarket at Gloucester HES Group Ltd now.

I've done many a dozen of them.. There are 3 special tools for the job.. One to hold the valve, one for the centering springs and one to replace the seals.
If it isn't leaking & only sticking as you say, it will need taking apart for a clean. Only swarf in the oil ever makes them stick like that.. Pump, brake or gearbox failure assuming it uses transmission oil?? I'm no red tractor expert by the way!!

Little bit of initial resistance then it goes on its own. If you bury the throttle it will set off itself.

Anyway, we called HydraPower, our local hydraulic specialists and they said they could fix it, so Dad trundles off with the orbitrol. First question: does it leak? It doesn't. It sticks, nowt can be done then. They've sorted an equivalent replacement for £295 so sorted.

Thanks for all the help.
