Everybody seems to be out drilling the last week or so!? Too early as far as I m concerned! Won t be a seed in the ground until the 15th of August? Might regret it weather is catchy but a bonus in my eyes! We were very lucky with flea beetle this year did nt see much in the crop and yielded average to above? Hav nt shifted any yet all HOLL hybrids

I only have 6ha cleared but am tempted to drill next week if we can't get on with anything else. I do think it's to early but if conditions are right it might be time.

Can you just spin some on with slug Pelletier on quad undressed of course just land is to wet to work and thought with all this rain I would try some people sometimes spread behind combine header so no different really

I'm tempted to try direct drill with the Vaddy, will drop the Xpress or the discs in first to see how it works land isn't very wet yet but you never know till you drop the implement in.

A few people on Twitter have been sowing osr over the last couple of weeks. None in around here that I've seen though plenty could start after winter barley any time now. My turnips went in after wheat cut & baled. They look a couple of days behind @silverfox 's. I'll make a start here as soon as the spring barley bales are cleared & I've got the germination % test results back from NIAB. Most of my osr area still has standing spring barley on it.

Doing some this morning before combining. Is early but we tried late last and that was a total failure. We need some rape as it screws our storage up being all cereals.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
