Dont panic, no intention of putting any on for well over a month, we normally put the N on in two splits, anybody doing three and what percentage of total N in each split? I'm thinking a little in late February to get it moving as where we delayed the first N on one block last year it never filled out as well and went on to yield less at harvest.

TIA

I normally put 25% on with sulphur late feb if conditions allow.,another 25% about 3/4 weeks later and final 50% mid april or whilst i can get through without alot of crop damage.

I think the plant may abort some of the earliest buds, but will compensate by producing more lateral ones?
Many in this area also have 10 to 20 CSFB per plant to worry about!

I am going to wap 300kg/ha of Piamon on as close to Valentines day as conditions allow. THen follow up with 250 to 300kg/ha as urea a month later. Done all the GAI, and happy to cut back where it allows, but always found early big lumps work fine here. No massive crops - can still find slugs merrily munching it :(
