Perkins 4.154

Hi, I have a former Combine engine in my Land Rover it's a Perkins 4.154. Suits the LR well. But I have a problem with it, pulled the Rad and found the top hose to be full of oil. It starts and runs well, doesn't use cool-lent there is not any in the oil. I have decided to pull the head and get it tested for cracks. Now the question, apart from the possible failure of the Head Gasket leaking oil into the water jacket, is there any other weak spot I should be looking at?

Does this model have an oil cooler, as many of the combines did. This can let oil mix with the water

Thanks for the reply, it does not have an oil cooler. But more problems the engine number seems to be missing and finding a Head set to say the least has become challenging. Has any one an idea where I may get a head set? Rapidly becoming 'Cheesed off' with this lump.
