Permaculture student looking for interested Kent farmers

Hi all

I'm about to study for a diploma in permaculture, and would really like to connect with crop farmers down my way in southwest Kent (I'm in SE20).

I'm guessing that Holistic Farming is much the same as permaculture, i.e. a large element of system design, designing out labour/external-inputs/waste, building fantastic soil, creating a full eco-system, etc (in other words, going along with what nature likes to do anyway). It's a very different production-mindset.

I'd like to study your farming pain points to see if Permaculture has any useful ideas for you (I'm not preachy, don't worry - just curious!). I'm also hoping one of you has some small patch of hopeless land (eg marginal, degraded, sloped, rocky, dry, flooding) that I can try to bring into productivity as one of my case studies, using permaculture principles.

If you're interested, in this project specifically or permaculture generally, let me know and we can have a chat. If farmers elsewhere are interested, do let me know; I'm happy to try to find someone local to you.
