Hello Everyone,

I have never done this before so here goes...My name is Lily and I hope this message find you well and are staying safe during this time, I am looking for permission to metal detect with permission on your land.

Me, my Dad and one of my colleagues at Royal Mail are all members of NCMD. We all throughly enjoy metal detecting. I will be honest and say I have never done it before but have always wanted to do it. My colleague has been metal detecting for over 10 years and he’s very keen to show me the ropes.
They have and I will pay huge respect to all land regardless who owns the land. I take huge pride in my hobby, The boys research all there findings, (can’t wait to have the chance too!)

1) Any holes that are dug will be refilled.
2) Any items that are found you will be notified and shown.
3) Any items if found that are deemed as Treasure will always be split fairly with the Landowner of 50/50
4) Any litter on the Field shall be picked up and trashed correctly including flytipping.
5) Any item that may be found with Names on it shall rightfully be returned to the owner if possible.
6) It would only be 3 of us detecting no one else Me my Dad and a good colleague from Royal Mail

We all live in Kent,
We are willing to accept any land offered.
Hope you can give me my first opportunity!
Thank you so much for reading.
Stay safe

Lily

You "thoroughly enjoy metal detecting" ...but... " I have never done it before " ?? 🤔

I have only done it in my garden! I haven’t done it properly yet,
But I will change the wording of my message it’s obviously come across wrong,
Thank you for pointing it out :giggle:

Hey everyone,

I’m not sure how to edit the message, but I put “we throughly enjoy metal detecting”
But I’ve never done it before. I should of
Put I’ve never done it properly
Before, I have only practiced in my garden but with COVID I haven’t had the chance to do it properly. My dad and my colleague have done it for years so they obviously enjoy it :)

apologies for not being clearer,

Lily

I hope you are successful .
I answered a similar post 12 mths or so ago to a lad from South Wales . He has been coming up ever since and treats everything and everyone with respect . He has found some interesting stuff including some coins 700 yrs old . Hopefully someone in Kent will give you a chance .

Best of luck - trouble with your hobby is not just the trust but people who dont ask for permission and go anyway especially at night - we kicked two off the farm a short while ago - myself and my two sons are 6ft 4 plus and dont expect a return !!!! Stick to your agreement and do not turn up with extra people which always seems to happen to permissions on shooting , ferreting etc etc.
