Dear Landowners and farmers

If I may introduce myself, I am Warrick Rochester, South African born 49 year old male, I have lived in the UK since 1988, both parents are from the UK. Wallsend and Haydock. My last employment was The Inland Revenue, (somebody had to do it haha) till a disability forced the end of my career. I now have a hobby in historical findings. I have taken up metal detecting in the last few weeks, I have a ncmd card, which is a governing body for metal detecting and includes a public liability insurance.

I am requesting permission to detect on your land, I am able to attend detecting the fields 3 to 4 times a week,I will text or email before I attend, so you know I am there. I will be respectful of your property and can keep my eyes out for any unwanted goings on your property while I'm attending. Flytippers hate us.

My detector is a simplex plus, which has a pinpointer, so not a case of digging everywhere, it is a small hole which I then replace carefully , any old iron found will be removed from the field and I tidy up after myself and any finds I do report to you, anything older found, will be reported to yourself and to our local Finds Liason Officer (FLO).

I can have an agreement setup signed by yourself and I, on any significant finds. There is a lot of history to be uncovered beneath the earth, some junk aswell. Here's to what we may find.

Many Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Yours thankfully

Warrick Rochester.
