Would wear and tear on a private road be taken into account on a private road by the planners?

I’ve had 9 objection letters to roofing a livestock gathering area,every objection is about wear and tear,all from a group of houses 400+ metres away that cannot see the site only pass it on the way to there houses.

None of the 6 properties that can see the site have objected,the ones far away also seem to have a gripe about not being consulted.
Well I got my email this morning to say it’s passed.🏆

I ended up with 11 letters of objection from a group of houses 600m down the lane,because of this it had to go before the committee,3 letters of objection came after the consultation date☹️

I did have an excellent planning officer who recommended it for approval and pointed out the letters of objection weren’t for valid reasons,the only downside is a clause saying this

That is a bit harsh - in my experience these clauses normally have an expiration date - for example "removal if not required for agriculture within 10 years".

i'm going to be looking at class q on a concrete cowshed. I'm concerned about access along a single private track from the public highway which is shared with 3 other residents. One of which does not have a vehicle. Can anybody advise what the highway checks are looking for to block the application. The track is 250m approximately and has 2 passing point

Class Q can only be refused on highway safety, not on access widths, ownership etc - so providing the private track junction with the public highway is acceptable then anything else isn't a consideration.

Unsafe generally means unacceptable visibility or an increase of traffic that may result in more accidents.
So if it is a known accident hotspot then by adding an extra (nominal) 8 trips a day will you be adding to the accident rate?
For visibility, can you see the appropriate distance in each direction from 2m back from the highways edge. From memory on a 30mph road the minimum distance is 43m and 60mph is 265m

Quick question George - my driveway has much less than this, but the road is at least 250 years younger than the house. Can I use any legislation to force the authorities to improve visibility?

Thank you for the comments. Since it's a private track, there won't be many accidents there. Despite being on a bend, the adjacent 30mph road does not have a high accident rate near it and is generally not used frequently. We can see clearly from the driver's seat of our SUV (which I measured is around 2.5m from drivers seat to the end of the bonnet) and can see clear ovefr 43+ meters up and down the hill . The only other potential problem is that the track lacks many official designated passing points, but has a couple of areas where cars can pull into other entrances and parking places ?

If it is a private track then that shouldn't have any planning consequences
