I hate Gallagher posts, fart next to one and it snaps.

I use Rutland, they do break but take a lot more abuse. Buy them off ebay from an Irish bloke, packs of 80. Can't remember price will try find it in my eBay. Top of my head think they 95p each.

.

If that price is correct they are very cheap. At the local ag merchants you could add a 1 to the start of that price you mentioned

I like the Patura ones. Strong and a 5 year guarantee. Have sourced from a local supplier (who shall remain nameless at this stage!) for £1 each which is excellent value for a really good stake. Can only find them elsewhere for £1.85 . Struggling to get supply from usual man currently though - think he's just got too much on his plate .

Irish company called Cheetah might be worth a go. Cheap plastic stakes less than £1 a go, no worse than Gallagher/hotline ones, also do good polywire.

I've used loads of Rutland ones in the past, usually bought on various offers and I can't think that I'd ever have paid anywhere near £1 each for them. However, they are cheap plastic stakes, and break easily IME.
I needed some extras last year and bought a box of the RAPPA yellow ones for the first time, when I was getting some more reels & end posts. They are a lot quicker to take up, just needing a twist and lift from the bike seat, and a lot stronger. They might be a bit dearer, but I suspect they'll last a lot longer.

Not used the rappa ones but I can pick up the Patura ones with the rappa winder at a pretty constant 4-5 mph. Easy to put out too - I hook them on as I walk.

Used hundreds of them over the years, the oldest ones are still going strong, and they were a german make, cant recall the name, but the ones left must be over 20 yrs old now.
Best I have bought over the last few years are some from screwfix with a double push plate on the bottom, non of which broke when putting them in, unlike most now do. A winter out up here sorts the good from the :poop: The last rutland ones were rubbish and became brittle within a few months (n) Coloured ones, also last much better than white, they just dont seem to go brittle as quick.

I'm not a fan of the Rappa ones, you can get the wire on easy but you cant get it off as quick. Don't no what make ours are but we use the ones with a diagonal gap along the front of them to put the wire in. When I run on and un hook wire and collect stakes at the same time dad has a job to keep up sometimes with the bike and Rappa winder, as long as its not to wet and slippery then I end up falling on my arse!
