Ploughing with 710’s tyres

Good evening. I am ploughing with 710mm rear tires and a lemken juwel 8 plough. Its a very nice piece of kit but some times i find difficult to match the furrows. I usually plough 16-18 inch width. I read somewhere that if you ploughing with wide tires you have to set the front furrow narrower. Is this correct? Any ideas from personal experiences? Thanks

Which plough bodies are you using, C40 or W52 or something else?
I am not sure which one are for sure. It has slatted bodies and the guy who brought the plow told me that is for wide tires especially.

Will depend on you dirt I expect. If it’s nice light stuff soil through will marry furrows up, if it’s got a bit of body you’ll always struggle matching them up I expect.
710’s here with W52 boards and doesn’t matter what you do with front furrow or width if it’s heavy you press a bit of the furrow down and they don’t match up perfect. Only really an issue for your pride..

Mine has slatted bodies and as you said on heavy soils i find issues of matching the furrows. Exactly, you feel me, i am trying to make the best result. 🤔

Have used W52 boarded plough with 650 tyres no issues at all. With 710 tyres it may pay to use a furrow cutter on the rear furrow if you are anal about matching up.I wouldnt bother personally if trash burial is good.

We plough with a Lemken with BS40 slats and XeoBib 710's just fine.
But your picture doesn't look like BS40, different bottom slat. Could you post up the part number stamped on the back of the slat?

So? They are smaller or different from ones you used? I am asking because i am not sure. Thank you
No idea. I’ve used a few different Lemkens over the years, but not a C40/CS40. You’ll need to ask your regional Lemken guy.

Just picked up a juwel 8m but it hasn’t come with a book, don’t suppose you’ve got a picture of which holes are the 14’’ ones on the beam?

I've had 2 tractors on 710s and now on a tractor with 650s all with same plough . I was sure the 650s would be a better Jack of all trades but as the tractor is at 80" settings , it's actually not as good as the other 2 on low 70s . I've given up trying to plough at 14"
