POA

Never bother but hey just for a laugh let us on here know what you are looking at with the reps number and we could just ring them at a preset time just so we can all get the price.
Price on application of ink to paper, or pixels?

I imagine it’s so they can gauge interest in the machine but I just puts me right off buying that way it’s like a sly way to do sealed bids in my opinion.

It’s usually because the person who traded in the machine finds it hard to accept that the dealer might’ve just make a profit out off him !! And the dealer doesn’t want to upset him !

We all know that’s profit is a dirty word in UK agriculture !

On https://www.classifieds.farm/ at least you can choose to not see POA adverts

just uncheck this box

If they were that bothered would they just not get a friend to ring up and enquire about the price?

Why do so many people advise machinery with the price POA? I for one find it very frustrating. Why is this becoming more and more common ?
This has been misunderstood for years.
It has nothing do with price, it's to help us distinguish between the good and great salesmen in the Ag trade, and the Pompous Offensive Arseholes. Have you ever phoned a POA and found otherwise?

Agreed. Puts me right of. Iv advertised on donedeal a few times always with the price. On few occasions the buyers said they rang me cause the other machine hadnt a price listed and couldnt be arsed ringin to find out. I find in life in general if ur upfront about a thing ul get more respect instead o bein all hidden and secretive

I've rung POA's in the past, and they usually do it because they're trying to get away with asking new money for old tat.
It's not about profit being a "dirty word". It's about finding a naive fool to swallow their BS, without looking like eye gouging crooks in their own adverts.

Actually looking back I did ring a POA once for a MB track it was tidy for its age if I recall he wanted 40/50k as it was a Collectors machine. Well why not just say that ?

Once. Phoned Parris Tractors. Told the price, seemed fair but still tried to see if there was any movement- none other than delivery within the quoted price - so did the deal there and then over the phone.

Don’t mind POA but need to have an idea of what the items worth beforehand

Don’t mind POA myself. I just send an Email with all our trading details asking and see what happens.

What’s worse is when they say open to offers or oh I haven’t worked a Price out yet.

Price is usually among the first things I ask for. If it’s too much I won’t waste anymore of there or my time on the subject.

Sometimes its because work needs doing, which a buyer might decide to do himself or let the trader do it before delivery. Having said that many traders don't do any work on machines unless they absolutely have to.
What pi??es me off more is cars which are advertised and they are not even legal when you go to test drive them.

I have been ringing around for the last two weeks for prices on concrete panels ,I ask every company, are you open for business and have you got stock everyone said yes.rang 6 Panels companies and one gave me a price and the rest was going to get back to me With a price I am still waiting for their phone call so I placed my order with the first one which came as a recommendation. It’s not just Ag dealers ,what can’t be bothered to ring you .
