Polaris ranger tail gate problems £20,000 machine very pleased with machine but tailgate is crap complained lots of times and still the same, what are people's thoughts on this matter

The new design with the plastic catches isn’t a patch on the previous model with metal ones. The rest of the machine is a big improvement though.

I think this is the 4th we’ve had now. Its 20 months old with 1500hrs and over 10,000 miles on the clock. Its been the most reliable machine up to now.

I use my tailgate on my Ranger several times a day for the last 7 years and over the last three years my tailgate started acting up where it will release 1 side of the catch. Always the same side. I suppose I could replace that spring. Someday. For now I am going downhill with a load in the back. That seems to work.

I think it help save the catches if you pull the handle when your shutting it. If you just push it shut, that several times a day rounds the edges of the catches off and makes it easier to pop open. The door also can move side to side alot on the hinges I made a spacer for the last one to take the movement out that helped alot.
