Staffordshire Police is appealing for information after 36 lambs were stolen from a farm on Bridgnorth Road, Perton.
It is believed the lambs were taken between 11:00p.m on Friday (July 26) and 1:30p.m on Sunday (July 28).
Officers from Staffordshire Police were called just before 1:30p.m on Sunday to reports that the lambs had been taken.
“We’re encouraging anyone who may have information or CCTV or dashcam footage of the area at the time that can help with our investigation to get in touch,” the force said.
“You can call us on 101, quoting incident number 334 of July 28, or message us via Live Chat on our website.
“To make an anonymous report, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
Early last month, South Yorkshire Police reported the theft of 126 sheep from land on Owday Lane in Worksop.
It is reported that between Wednesday, June 26, and Sunday, June 30, access was gained to the land.
It is believed that 46 ewes were taken, leaving lambs in the field without a mother, and 80 lambs, some taken without their mothers.
All sheep have a blue mark on their shoulders.
Investigating officer Amy Jolliffe said: “This is a very sad incident which has left lambs without a mother.
“The farmer of the sheep has also lost a significant amount of money, affecting his business.
“The sheep have been treated with medication making them unfit for human consumption for a certain amount of time.”
