I will be 100 % honest and say I don t know what a Exlana is like ! My wife is the livestock person but she wants to lamb " out of season" so that she has three sets of lambing ie Nov/ Dec , Febuary and May but only 6 or so each time . If you want to PM me some details or info then great , thanks .

That sounds a good plan with the Dorsets, so that there are lambs to look at more often.

Exlana wont lamb out of season unfortunately but theyve got an awful lot less wool :sneaky:

They are complete opposite to a Dorset. Wool shedding, good on there feet and and aren't fat lazy lumps. But the Dorset is the right sheep for you if you want lambs around most of the year.

Katahdin, BB Belly, Dorset all in the mix and all breed out of season ---
Perhaps I'll try a few then .
And speaking of BB blackbelly Just so happens I have a couple of ' lookalikes' .or throwbacks .. they would make an interesting not common, different type to see I guess not that I would sell them anyway.

Hi. I have the shearlings and will have the ewe lambs - not weaned yet. I'm not in Polled Dorset country but they are not pedigree so more affordable. Don't listen to the others, Polled Dorsets are great sheep. All the best. Nick 07816 749500
