Went up to the polytunnel today and there were 8 little holes pecked across the ridge line, each by where the hoop is. Anyone else have problems with birds peackig holes??? Been up 18months now and never seen any birds on it. Put the repair tape on each hole to fix it.

Sounds like the plastic rubbing on the bar creating a hole. I protect mine with pipe insulation foam held on with cable ties.

My b&b cattle man has had jackdaws pecking holes in his lambing polly tunnel. He started repairing with tape but I haven’t been back in it to see how he has got on since May. Apart from bird scaring measures I don’t see how you can stop them.

we have a problem with a cat/fox (not sure which yet) making holes in the plastic. The photo shows a clear claw mark (45mm wide) but there are much bigger holes now.. does anyone else have this problem? how do you deal with it?

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
