Polytunnel

Sorry to hijack this thread but our 66x30 polytunnel has just spit the cover after a few years service . Needing to renew , and aware that the original white skin was very prone to overheat in warm weather , what are the options available , allowing some light into the tunnel - not necessarily as much as before , and a bit more wind resistant if possible . Oh , and where from, and of course , availability ?

Been looking at polytunnels aswell, found both Mc Gregor and Northern which both look good online. But Northern about half the price. Are mcgregor worth the extra?

We bought second hand tunnel off ebay and just finished erecting it for lambing at end February. Not sure of make but looks like Northern Polytunnel. They supplied new sheet and galebreaker and were very helpful. Need to tighten sheet when it is hot as it lifts a bit in wind.

Just finished putting up one from Northern Polytunnels and really pleased with it. One of the reasons I went with Northern was the fact that there was no wood involved and the steel seems fairly robust. There were a couple of bits missing but customer service was excellent and the missing bits were sent out without question. It’s already had to put up with 40 - 50 mph winds and thankfully no issues.
Hope this helps

I put up one from First Tunnels last year, again for veg and not livestock but absolutely no complaints with it. Would recommend them to anyone.

I just had a quote for a 30m x 14m x 6 M high heavy duty poly tunnel. Came to nearly £42k (£99 per sqm). Also had a quote for a proper shed on the same concrete base but 15m x 50m came to £93 x sqm.

Price difference seems crazy, I’d much rather a shed for less money!
