Potato Foliar Feed

As it says what are the best products to use on potatoes?

What are you trying to achieve??

You have to pump them with magnesium and manganese to begin with. I assume you have a full canopy by now so keep whacking them with Yara Magphos K or croplift alternately, just put it in with your sequenced blight sprays. Magphos K will provide greater tuber numbers and subsequently increase their size as well.

Just keep them growing and a good canopy. Is bitter salts any good

Better than nothing. As above foliar phospate encourages more tubers to form, potash encourages yield. Magnesium and manganese will support a healthy canopy. There are a myriad of products you can use. I used to use magphos K and evergreen plus but the principle is the same.

Potato nutrition is a massive subject in itself I am sure there will be experts along shortly. I was warned that if you see them flagging its too late so always pump them along. I have not grown thousands of acres but I have never had a bad crop. Didnt try to cut corners though. A good crop can be worth a lot of money so doesnt pay to get too cute.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
