Not seen a GZ like that for a long time, I thought they all got changed to the normal configuration. ( picking table at back) I was told it was due to health and safety in case a picker jumped out and got clobbered by the cart elevator .
never mind that i stepped around the back one day to chat to the picker wifeys, argh my eyes they were all sat doon pishing and smoking at the same time:eek:where is the hse when needed?

If I keep growing spuds (unlikely) I want one of these. Harvesting must be pleasurable without numpty trailer drivers to swear at.

What sort of seperation kit does it have? I have looked at secondhand european ones before (or even a single row) but can't see what they have to take the crap out.

The 1 at last years Agritechnica had the airsep separator in it but I don't know if its just a gimmick or not. It was on 1050 tyres and looked impressive. I used to pull a 75 se lifting all the mini tubers and trail plots, it had a deviner web on it and a hedgehog belt worked ok.

Funnily enough me and the driver was talking about it today as his picking table has cracked dew to the elevator hanging off it, he said that the models after his got changed like the gt... Which IMO is better

Where I worked had a new 1 in 97, it was plagued with problems and went back to Grimme after the season. The picking table on my Gt has cracked and broken this year found it just as we finished.

We have been running SE 150-60 at work for 2 seasons now, not had many issues with mud and soil but dry clods have been causing issues. Think best day this season was just shy of 400 ton in store in a 12 hr day normally average around the 250-300 mark. Have 2 picking on top of the harvester full time then run over grader with 1/2 people on it depending on conditions. Finished our acreage back in mid September but have done a bit of contract lifting with it since.

Blows air up so potatoes don't drop but heavy stuff does?

@ORRA LOON Maybe that is the answer for seed growing- Stop ruining our soil destoning and just seperate them out on the harvester.

Not sure how it would cope with wet Scottish soils though? Mind you soils in that vid are probably similar to what you are working on the Moray coast.

About half the area we do would be like that and I would really like to try a George Moat stone bury machine on it to save destoning but the other half is crap, with more stones than a quarry, steep or heavy clay. I do like the idea of running on standard tractor wheels, would be good for grip and 1 less job to do.

The Airsep innovation is a relatively old one and originally invented by Spudnik in the US (I believe). Grimme bought Spudnik in 2008? and have installed in on a European configuration machine last year for Agritechnica. Few running around this year for evaluation purposes. Especially how it copes with heavy wet European crops. It certainly has major benefits towards stones and other rubbish such as haulm. I do wonder how much HP the fan is asking?

I believe fan needs about 100 hp, US machines tend to have their own engine where Airsep is used. System works well in the dry but looses to many potatoes when wet and mud sticking to potatoes.

Well 100 hp is a fair bit! You would indeed need an auxiliary engine fitted. And there was me thinking 25 hp for an air sleeve spray boom was excessive! If this really is the case then Grimme will need to come up with something. Although the American harvesters are often a lot larger of course, lifting four beds and the crop of four more thrown in between.

Here is a video of the same system fitted to an American Spudnik machine:
