Being upside down everyone's digging here, although 110mm of rain over the weekend seems to have put the brakes on:(
Brother tells me planting progress is slow in sunny Cheshire.

11mm last night, so give it a miss today. Forecast looks good for the next week, so should finish it then.

Who’s finished then? We’ve got about 75% done.

we have finished our own (60ha) has taken us 14 days on and off, been a funny old year...
started on the 18th of April and finished on the 9th of may,
last year we had them all in by the 8th of April

now have another 40ha to do on contract for a neighbour.....

All done on Tuesday. Only five weeks later than last year. Not going to be over run with large ones this year. Had to leave a bit cus if wet holes. Can do without the hassle come harvest time. I’m putting my estimate up a little on the starting price come November.

Been very stop start here, trying to fit all the other jobs in. I don’t think I’ve done more than 6 hours planting in any one day as yet.

Only Dad and myself to plant 80 acres. Doesn’t sound much, but with grading, spraying etc etc it’s been a struggle.

We're 135ac through our own 150ac

Been and popped 35ac in for someone else across 3 fields, another 20 to put in there too now.

About 50% done here, rest is salads planted with a cup planter so slow going hopefully be done in 2weeks. 250 acres total

Salads in a cup planter is soul destroying. Would you consider a s/h belt planter for them to speed up?

First planted peer should be through end of the week, so not actually that far behind last year amazingly.

We got on the last field yesterday, quite a heavy field and it was actually too dry. Too many clods so needed a bit of rain on it. Not sure if we’ve had too much now though(n)
